Emily Horton

Registered Veterinary Technician

I originally began my post-secondary education at the University of Ottawa, thinking that teaching was what I wanted to go into. After much "soul searching," I realized that my true passion has always been with helping and caring for animals. At the age of 25, I made the switch and completed my Pre-Health Sciences program at Georgian College and later completed the Veterinary Technician program at Georgian's Orillia campus in April of 2018. I wrote my VTNE in August of 2018 and am happy to say that I was successful in obtaining my Registered status. I have special interests in Anesthesia and Dentistry. For me, this career is about helping to give a voice to the "voiceless" and providing the best care for animals. I started with my amazing team at North Town Veterinary Hospital in November 2018 and love that the clinic is an emergency clinic.

A fun fact about me is that my first pet was a Chocolate Lab named Mavi and I can speak French.
